We are 600 million. We make up 9% of the global population.
We are the women of India.
This year, as the country draws close to what’s being seen as the definitive general elections of the decade, we want to make sure we’re heard.
And with 73% of the young voters in rural India this year, we want to make sure the loudspeakers are with us – the women in the heartland of the nation.
We are the women in the villages and small towns of India.
We are farmers, journalists, political leaders, entrepreneurs, lawyers, homemakers, cops.
We are dancers, singers, mountain climbers, cricketers, TV hosts, radio jockeys, students.
In 2017, we beat the men in U.P. with a higher voter turn-out (60.29, to their 58.82).
In 2019, with Khabar Lahariya as the only independent, feminist grassroots news network, well-placed to be this platform where we grab those loudspeakers, we intend to amplify our voices.
We are the rural women of India. And you can make sure our voices turn into roars, as we shape the year and years ahead, this crucial year.
Help us make her story, history.
