India’s 2024 Lok Sabha Elections: Countdown to Decision Day

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are nearing their conclusion, and this time around, the electoral landscape is awash with fresh hues.  The primary contenders are Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), a coalition of 26 parties led by the main opposition party, the Indian National Congress. The news of comedian Shyam Rangeela’s nomination being revoked from Varanasi, from where Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi is seeking a third term, has caused quite a stir. Meanwhile, the political skirmishes between the candidates have been relentless. Despite the flurry of nomination withdrawals and cancellations, the question remains: how effectively have the grandiose rallies and road shows of the ministers addressed the people’s
